Who We Are
Heritage Baptist Church is a body of Christ-followers seeking to magnify Him. Recognizing our brokenness from sin and rebellion against our creator, God, our attempts to find peace have been found in the rescue of Jesus. We are not perfect but we are forgiven. We strive to live out the rescue which Christ has brought us. In view of His mercy we strive to take our ordinary lives and lay them before Him. As those surrendered to His rescue and trusting Him for the hope of life, we are committed to gathering together to worship Him, studying His word, and sharing the hope of His rescue to those in need. We strive to do this by Loving God, Loving People, and Telling the World of this great hope.

God
There is one God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; who subsists in unity and also in three separate distinct persons. God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.This church, believing in the Bible as the inspired word of God and as the sole authority for faith and practice and acknowledging its adherence to the teaching of Jesus Christ; declares its purpose:
- To proclaim earnestly the Gospel Message and urge its personal acceptance.
- To cooperate heartily by prayer, gift, and service in the effort to establish the Kingdom of Christ throughout the world.
- To maintain regular worship services.
- To promote systematic Bible study and training for Christian service and to encourage in every possible way.
- To urge members to live daily according to the principles that are set forth in the Word of God.
Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell; and to be eternally united with Him is heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
Man
Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Gospel
The most important news that we have to share at Heritage is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And the most important thing we do week after week is proclaim that message so that people from all backgrounds and every generation can come to know and receive God’s grace. We want to be a church that experiences the transforming power of God.
- Salvation is by God’s grace alone that is received through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone.
- Faith in Christ is the only hope for us to be restored to a relationship with our Creator.
Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command.
The Church
The church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.
Access to God
Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Affiliation
Heritage Baptist Church is a cooperating church of the Pensacola Bay Baptist Association, Florida Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. This association allows us to be connected to like minded churches all across the world, and to partner with them in mission to reach the world for the gospel.
